There were two rooms in one house. The big one has beautiful furniture and beautiful chandelier. A fluffy carpet of amazing rich colors lay on the floor.
The small room decoration was poorer. There were ordinary furniture, lamps and carpet that looked much older than his neighbor. But in this simple room there were always blooming flowers, children who were playing, adults who were gathering to communicate, and the air there was cleaner than in large.
Once a beautiful large carpet asked a question the carpet of the small room:
– Hey, neighbor! You’re so old and ugly compared to me. But why do people love you more? People used to play, lie and sit in your room … plants are always blooming there and the air is cleaner, and I’m so handsome, but I remember people only passing through me on their way to your room. What’s happening?
– It is easy, my friend, replied old carpet. You’re nice and fluffy, but look inside yourself deeper. You’re full of dust. If you are cleaned, then only on the top, and every week householders took me out into the yard and beat in such a way that I am screaming, crying and suffering. But when I am taken back into the house, I get a reward. Everyone wants me to lie down and play because of my freshness and purity. That’s why flowers are blooming, and kids are playing…
Beautiful carpet paused, and then sighed:
– So you sacrifice yourself … I see. But I don’t want to expose myself to torture for the sake of purity, freshness. I don’t want to endure humiliation, beating and cold … No, it’s not for me. I am beautiful. So let others appreciate me for the beauty.
This conversation was over. They agreed to differ.
